NIGHTCLUBBING Archive
to be Preserved In the NYU Fales Library Downtown Collection The Nightclubbing archive of nearly 100 musical performances, 20+ interviews, video art projects, early music videos, photographs, posters, flyers, and video DJ sampler reels is being restored and included in the NYU Fales Library Downtown Collection. The Nightclubbing Archive will be stored digitally and integrated with Emily and Pat’s database of dates, locations, band lineups, set lists and other ephemera from the time. Pat and Emily will soon be blogging the restoration process of their Nightclubbing archive for the New York Times hyperlocal blog, The Local East Village. Blogging will give the filmmakers access to the fans of the 1975-80 punk rock scene and their interactions will be included in the Nightclubbing database. Find out more about The Local East Village blog at eastvillage.thelocal.nytimes.com/2010/12/20/on-video-preserving-punks-past The Fales Library Downtown Collection has been collecting documentation of the downtown art scene since 1994.
